A party without cake is just a meeting. – Julia Child
We Are Meant To Eat Together is designed to model how play, curiosity, and exploration can be utilized and curated as intentional learning opportunities. Learning happens everywhere including the kitchen; making food together and sharing food connects us to each other, the world around us, and to what nourishes us. When we are connected to something we observe it and become aware of it in new ways. Learning happens in the kitchen because we have to understand and be capable of performing tasks to reach the end goal. Learning also happens because we get exposed to different questions, perspectives, and experiences. I get really excited about the activity possibilities and ways the kitchen can be a place to get learning off the page, and demonstrate a model environment that supports self-directed and non-coercive education.
